So you are just getting started with P90X.

Feeling scared?

Maybe a bit intimidated?

I know I was when I first started it 2 years ago. The good news is that you don’t have to be if you implement the following steps that worked for me.

P90X is a very intense program and not for the beginner. As a an Independent Beachbody Coach it is my privilege to offer free advice and assistance to anyone who may not have a Beachbody Coach. My very first customer I received from Beachbody was a 43 year old male named Warren who was 5′ 11″ tall, weighed 272 pounds, and as he stated to me, he had not seen a gym or any kind of workout since high school. He had purchased P90X on television and I was assigned as his Coach by Beachbody.

First off, I told him that he may not want to start with such an intense program and that he should maybe look at Tony Horton’s Power 90, which is a very good program, but a lot less intense than P90X. He told me that he was going to do it and that he did not want to try anything else.

I asked him to at least take the fit test which can be found on page 17 on the P90X Fitness Guide to make sure he could pass it. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you purchased P90X new (the key word here is NEW) for anything less than the $119.85 retail price, chances are you have an illegal or bootleg copy of P90X and we have seen many of the DVD’s stop working after a month or two. Even if you or someone you know purchased P90X from any COSTCO for the $99.99 price they were selling it for - you have a bootleg copy of P90X that may stop working someday. Also, if you purchased P90X new and you did not receive the Fitness Guide or Nutrition Plan manuals, chances are you have an illegal copy that may stop working. Anyway, just thought it was important for you to know this.

Back to the Fit Test…

The P90X Fit Test is a small group of exercises you do before you start P90X to see if you are in good enough physical condition to take on the entire P90X program. So, because of my suggestion, my Beachbody Customer Warren reluctantly took the Fit Test, passed it (or so he told me) and said he wanted to do the program. At this point I could not argue with him.

So, long story short, with me doing a little email Coaching once or twice a week Warren was able to lose 54 pounds his first 90 Days on P90X - which was an AWESOME accomplishment. He did a second round of P90X and ended up losing a total of 72 plus pounds and has gone on to run half marathons and other things. His life has completely changed because of P90X and a little Coaching.

That said, you too can get incredible results if you follow the plan and use some of these tips that worked for me. I am a 50 year old male and P90X got me in the best shape I have ever been in my life. You can see my before and after pics (with Tony Horton himself) on my main home page at CommitToStayFit.com.

If you are not in the best condition, or you have any injuries, make sure to check with your doctor before starting P90X.

I tell EVERYONE, no matter what fitness level they are at to start out at 60% to 70% of their maximum ability. Too many people try and hit it using everything they have, and you can find yourself extremely sore or even injure yourself. Trust me on this, especially when you do Plyometrics because you are going to burn your legs like never before. I have personal trainers I have put on P90X who are generally in good shape, and after a few days on the program I ask them how they are doing. Almost 100% across the board the answer is something like, “I can’t believe this, it’s the toughest program I have ever done” - but they love it!

Get a good heart rate monitor at your local sporting goods store, or from my site at CommiTtoStayFit.com. Here again, on some of the cardio days, especially Plyometrics, you will probably hit your max heart rate or go over it - something you do not want to do.

This is an extremely important step and one of the secrets to success as you go through the program. Take your before pictures (front, back and side) in shorts (men) or a swim suit (women), measurements, weigh yourself and determine your body fat percentage. You will want to do this every 30 days. Trust me on this. Your first 30 days you may not see the “weight loss” results you were expecting and get discouraged - especially the women. I know, because my wife was one of them. She only lost a few pounds of weight her first 30 days. However, when we redid her measurements, pictures and body fat percentage, she had gained some muscle, lost a couple pound, lost some body fat, and lost some inches - and you could see a difference between her before and after pictures. And ladies, as reluctant as you may be to take a before picture in a swim suit, just do it - you will be glad you did.As for determining your body fat percentage there are a few ways to accomplish this. You can go to your local department store and purchase one of the scales that measures weight, body fat percentage. Some even check your water, muscle mass and more. They can run about $40 to $100 or so. If cost is an issue, you can get a pair of body fat calculators at your local sporting good store for about $10 to $15. I go to my doctor who has a really nice scale that costs $2,500 and it calculates all sorts of things, and one of her assistants does the test for me at no cost. Some gyms have them and so do many personal trainers. Remember, muscle weighs more than fat, so as you lose fat and gain muscle you will find that measuring weight alone is not good (or accurate) enough.Lastly, I have found that many people see the majority of their results the last 60 to 90 days. Don’t get discouraged and quit if you don’t see the results you expect your first 30 or even 60 days. Commit to the full 90 days and don’t quit.

The toughest part of the program for most people is changing eating habits. I have a friend who is pretty diligent at using P90X, however, what he put’s in his mouth is horrible and looking at him you would never know that he did P90X. I will be perfectly honest with you. I did not follow the meal plan from the very start. If you can, you should as you will get better results much faster. What I did was started cutting back on all the bad stuff. For instance, instead of putting on a huge slice of cheese and a fair amount of mayonnaise on my sandwich, I simply cut everything in half to start. We used to go out or order in pizza almost every Friday. I immediately cut this to once a month and ate until I was satisfied - not stuffed. Portion wise, I also cut back on this, and instead of eating 3 bigger meals each day, I ate 4-5 smaller meals each day. As I started getting back in better shape, and could see results, I cut back even further and got to the point where I don’t use any cheese or mayo on my sandwiches, rarely have pizza unless it is one slice once in a while, and went to a good tasting fat-free salad dressing I found (check out Paul Newman’s stuff - it’s really good). Lastly, make sure you are eating enough. Another problem people encounter is that they try and starve themselves to death thinking they will lose weight faster. This will not work with P90X and can even have the opposite effect on you. It is important that you read and follow the information in the P90X Nutrition Plan or you may not get the results you are looking for.

A word about Yoga X. Many guys think Yoga is for women or wimpy guys. Trust me on this. If you have never done yoga before, as I had not done, this program works you HARD. In fact, for me, it was (and still is) the toughest program out of all of them. Tony Horton personally told me that it is the most important program out of all of them in P90X. And if you ever get the opportunity to do a group workout with Tony, as I have done on several occasions, you WILL be doing Yoga - so just do it.

Anyway, I hope this helps a little since it is coming from someone who has done several rounds of P90X - and absolutely love it, and still do. Though I have just started Beachbody’s new program INSANITY, and all I can say is OUCH!

That said, if you do not have a Beachbody Coach, or you have any questions regarding P90X, nutrition, supplements or any other Beachbody programs, feel free to contact me at blake@committostayfit.com. I would love to help you get the results you want.

Hey Everyone,

If you have been looking at the Team Beachbody business opportunity for a while, or you are just looking at it for the very first time, you are going to want to pay close attention to this information.

On Friday, January 16th, 2009, Beachbody Will officially roll out their new 30 minute Beachbody Revolution Infomercial, and is part of the New Beachbody Coach Connection program. Beachbody has been giving us their paying customers for two years now, starting Friday they will do something unprecedented in that they will be providing actual business builders (Beachbody Coaches) who sign up via the infomercial and placing them in our business.

If you were to read between the lines, Beachbody is now building our Team Beachbody businesses with both CUSTOMER and now DISTRIBUTORS (Coaches).

You may have heard that in life, and more importantly, success in life, that you need to have a couple things fall in place. One of the factors to success in life is something called TIMING - or being in the right place at the right time. Let me tell you that if you are reading this right now, you may have found yourself in one of those rare positions where timing could have a huge impact on your income for 2009 and beyond - but only if you take action right away.

Currently, Beachbody spends about 100 MILLION dollars per year on advertising, which currently generates about 15,000 to 30,000 customers each WEEK - which they place in our business for us.

Now, Beachbody is applying the same success they have had with their fitness programs and the customer program and applying it to their new Beachbody Coach Revolution program. Will it be a success? We don’t know yet. However, I can tell you that regardless of whether the Beachbody Coach Connection program works or not - this is the most amazing company I have ever been a part of.

My wife and I have made more money with this program than anything we have ever done in our lives - it’s truly amazing. I lost my job back in 2006, and we found Beachbody and have never looked back. In my corporate job I made over $100,000 per year. We earned $170,000 in 2007 with Beachbody, and in 2008, while the economy was doing really bad and more and more people we losing jobs, we earned over $300,000 with our Team Beachbody business, and we would like to help you do the same thing.*

When you join the Beachbody Coach Revolution you will also be able to take advantage of the $1,000 email, that shows you how you could earn $1,000 very quickly. You also get the new Money Maximizer DVD which will show you how to turn your weight loss into profit.

The great thing about Beachbody Coach Connection program is that you can get started for less than $200 and the business comes with a complete 100% money back guarantee. You can “kick the tires” for a full 30 days, and if you don’t like what you see, simply return your Coach kit for a full refund.

So, if you would like to learn more about The Beachbody Revolution, the Money Maximizer DVD, the $1,000 email, and how you can turn weight loss into profit system, then check out the videos and information on my www.CommittoStayFit.comweb site, and then get back with me at (208) 898-4721, or via email at blake @committostayfit.com.

Beachbody® does not guarantee any level of success or income from the Beachbody Coach Opportunity. Each Coach’s income depends on his or her own efforts, diligence, and skill. See our Statement of Independent Coach Earnings for the most recent information on our Coaches’ actual incomes at: http://www.milliondollarbody.com/signup/coach/index.htm?username=cmmit2stafit.

The IRS has set new vehicle mileage rates for 2009!

The IRS announced that it is changing the Standard Vehicle Mileage rates for business, charity, moving and medical. They changed the rate earlier this Summer (July 1st to be exact) because of the fast rise in gas prices.

For the most part, there was one set of mileage rates in effect for the first half of this year, and a different set of mileage rates for the second half of the year.

Following is a listing of Standard Mileage Rates which were in effect from January to June of 2008,
and July through December of 2008, along with the new mileage rates for 2009.

Business Rates:
2008 - January through June: 50.5¢ per mile
2008 - July through December: 58.5¢ per mile
2009 - is set at 55¢ per mile

Medical:
2008 - January through June: 19¢ per mile
2008 - July through December: 22¢ per mile
2009 - is set at 24¢ per mile

Moving:
2008 - January through June: 22¢ per mile
2008 - July through December: 27¢ per mile
2009 - is set at 24¢ per mile

Charity:
2008 - 14¢ per mile
2009 - 14¢ per mile (no change)

As you see, the IRS picked a mileage rate for 2009 that was between the low rate and the high rate for 2008 since gas prices have dropped so much from Summer.

So, all you business owners, especially home-based business owners and network marketers, it is very important that you start to track your vehicle mileage business expenses to and from your home office. I always tell people, with the business mileage deduction set at over 50¢ a gallon, if you are not taking advantage of this valuable business expense, then stop your car every 2 miles and throw a $1 bill out the window.

It is important for you to understand what all of the business expenses are that are available to you, as long as your are operating your home business with the intent to make a profit.

You can learn more about all the home-based business tax deductions that area available to you by downloading my Special Tax Savings Report at http://homebusinesstaxsecrets.net. I charge $17.95 for this report, however, for the next 25 people who want this valuable information I will give it away for free (Merry Christmas). When you get to the shopping cart, simply enter SR100%Discbw (not case sensitive) in the Coupon Code field and your cost will be ZERO.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the report and make sure to take every allowable tax deduction allowed by law.

Here is a great FREE resource if you would like to get some free publicity for your business or anything else you do. A guy by the name of Peter Shankman has created a service where he puts Journalists who are looking for content and stories on a variety of topics in touch with people like you and me.

Peter’s service is called Help A Reporter Out. Each day he sends out a couple of emails from reporters and journalists who are looking for stories or interviews on a variety of different topics. Following are a few of the categories:

Business and Finance

Health and Fitness

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Travel

Technology

For instance, today, there is a writer looking to interview top sales people for a new book (something I am going to apply for as a leader in my Team Beachbody business, and the internet marketing I do). Anyway, following is a copy of today’s email (from November 28th, 2008) so you can see what they look like. If you like the idea you can sign up at www.HelpAReporter.com.

all your fault for voting that she should get the day off. Sigh.

OK. Here are your one-day queries, followed by a few gift bag
requests BELOW THE QUERIES. Scroll ALL the way down for them.

We’ll be back on Monday morning with our three a day usual queries

Deadline: 6:00 PM PACIFIC - November 31

Query:

“I’m doing a story based on an experience of mine while at work in
a clothing store about a month ago: a young man came in and asked
me to help him find a gift that would “get this girl in bed.”

I’m wondering, is it common for men or women (especially younger
men and women) to exchange gifts or services for sex?

So far women were creeped out by my story, but find it perfectly
acceptable and even expected if they are in a relationship. The
gift doesn’t have to be materialistic. Example: boyfriend does some
chores around the house, wanting to do something nice for
girlfriend, and maybe some extra points in the bedroom. Or maybe
the girlfriend instigates sex with boyfriend to get him to buy her
something/do something for her.

And it doesn’t have to be heterosexual couples either.

A sexual studies expert said that in some cases, the man may be
only buying gifts in order to get sex, or he may have just asked me
this question to express his masculinity and to brag. She said that
he might have really been seeking a romantic gift, but may feel the
need to perform in the stereotypical male fashion.

Any thoughts?

“This is my second request for help with putting together activity
bags for Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego. I received only
four responses when I posted this the first time so I’m hoping I
can get a few more before my deadline. Thank you to those who
contacted me already. But in case you missed my first request,
here’s my mission.

I created my own business called Pencil Bugs when I was nine.
They’re handmade bug-like pencil toppers. I’ve been donating to
foster kids since I started my business but this year, I started
putting together gift/activity bags for Rady Children’s Hospital in
San Diego,CA. I include my own products and buy extra goodies but
the kids can always use more things. My next donation will be mid
December so
any kids who are stuck in the hospital during Christmas will have
things to keep them busy and hopefully make their stay not quite so
boring or miserable.

The hospital has a wish list and there are lots of little things
the kids use often. If anyone can help me fill the activity bags
with things like small puzzles, rattles or other baby toys, cars
like Hot Wheels or other plastic cars/trucks, squeezable stress
balls (can you imagine their stress?), or craft bead kits, please
contact me. I don’t have room to mention everything on their list
so if you have other items or ideas you can help with, let me know
that too. Just think of activity things. My goal is to make 50
bags this time but each one doesn’t have to include the same exact
things so whatever anyone can do, big or small, will help. They
also have a community playroom where kids can check out bigger
things like board games, books, or music CD’s. If anyone is
interested in donating those type of things, a couple or even one
would be great.

Once I deliver the bags to them, I am going to add a page on my
website and thank all the people who helped with this and I’ll
include a link to your website. I’m also putting a sheet in each
bag with the items listed and who donated them.

I’m delivering them on Dec. 19 but I need about a week before that
to get everything together so please make sure you check the deadine.

Thank you so much,
If you have questions for my business manager (a.k.a. my mom), her
e-mail address is on my website.

Hello Fellow Marketers,

If you do any kind of business where you have to make sales calls or you are a Network Marketer who works cold market leads, you know how hard it is to get people to pick up the phone in the first place, let alone to call you back.

So here is a great little marketing trick we use when calling cold market leads or even when we try and get back with a prospect. If your prospect does pick up the phone simply leave the following message (or something similar):

Hi <Prospects Name> this is <Your Name> at <(123) 456-7890> and I am calling you today because I am giving the next 5 people who call me back an incredibly valuable free… <now hang up the phone!>.

Because of the home business tax strategy information I teach I use a little different approach and say the following:

Hi <Prospects Name> this is <Your Name> at <(123) 456-7890> and I am calling you today because I am giving the next 5 people who call me back a free gift that can put $200 to $600, per month, or more, into your pocket… <then I hang up the phone>.

So what have we done here? We have presented our prospect with a PARTIAL compelling offer and it sounds like the phone line was cut off before I could finish my sentence.

You can do the same thing. Use either one of these or create your own which might be more compelling or specific to your business.

IMPORTANT! Just make sure you leave your name and contact information FIRST - then go into your beneficial pitch.

More WAY COOL marketing tips coming soon!

Bring It!
